You have often heard, and possibly even said it yourself, “You’re Only Young Once!” You’ve utilized that declaration to bolster an invitation to do something you hadn’t ever done before or to give yourself permission to participate in something you aren’t sure you should. But isn’t a similar phrase, from farther down the timeline of life, perhaps of greater benefit to consider – “You’re Only Old Once!” No one ever thinks about this. Well, not until after the experience that followed the “You’re Only Young Once” decision. Then, occasionally the regret or reflection of “I should have known better” visits. But there are some very cherished and delightful elements to being young and youthful. It may even be beneficial to re-incorporate them into your thinking and life because ‘You’re Only Old Once!”
