It is easy to get stuck, whether it was an occasion that was wonderful or a time that was tragic, the lure is the same – becoming caught in the emotional magnetic pull of that event. Your enemy is not that concerned about the prompt for stuckness, only the result of not being able to move on it. When Jesus invites you to follow him, he is inviting you to take on a Spiritual Growth Mindset. That is, in part, surrendering your will and life direction to allowing him to lead. Its beginning to trust him enough to endure discomfort while he is transforming you for blessings and victory. Remember Lot’s Wife, God invited her to trust and follow but she longed more for her yesterday than His Tomorrow.
