Through the Roof Grace

It’s a Tuesday, an unremarkable day by anyone’s standard. The decision is if you are up to pulling yourself off your mat and to the intersection where you may receive some small gift of mercy. All of a sudden, four guys grab your mat, your gripping the sides, that they are quickly walking down the lane. You don’t know where you are heading, they excitedly say something about a teacher and then they stop. The way is blocked by the many people who are listening outside a house. Well, you think, this is something different – better then chocking on the dust as people would walk by you. Now, there’s some additional buzz, the guys want to get you closer but there is no room. Then suddenly they carried me up the outside steps to the roof. This is nice, a better view than what I normally see but I still can barely make out what the teacher is saying. Then an explosion of action, debris is flying by me, and unexpectedly a hole in the roof exposes the activity inside the house. They are attaching some ropes to the corners of my mat; I glanced rather perplexed as they began to drop me through the hole in the roof. I am lowered; I am gazing eye to eye with the teacher. I passed by his face and now lying at his feet. He smiles at me with the biggest grin, one of warmth and anticipation. I started my day with a hope for mercy and I am beginning my new life with a gift of grace! Do you live with this gift?
