Sometimes it’s to get into an opponent’s head, and other occasions it is a fragile attempt to bolster your own confidence trying to push away insecurities. It is the flamboyant, often loud declaration of one’s ability and accomplishments fueled by a deep thought of superiority. This boastful pride is a dominant position that erodes relationships, that divides friendships, puffs up a head and becomes a precursor to a fall. This type of fall-failure is especially dangerous and devastating because many times the pride-filled individual failures in very public environments. If the individual strives to grab another pride declaration, followed by another, hoping they will finally stop the self-esteem collapse, the crash is magnified. But falls and failures have a very powerful and beneficial element, one that opens up coaching, friendships, fullness and victory. Be careful not to stand on the ‘Big Brag’.
