Praise The Lord
Gratitude and thanksgiving usually surround a situation or outcome that fits our desire. It’s easier then, during those moderately pleasant and comfortable times, to be thankful. When the results or situation becomes hard, grief laden and heartbreaking it naturally is difficult to see good or feel grateful. There is a temptation to cocoon ourselves in with our feelings of darkness, dismay, grief and heartache. This practice often aids to the Praise Blindness that can accompany those walking in dark valleys. The invitation to Praise the Lord becomes a lifeline for the heart that is drowning in sorrow and sadness. The struggle may come from thinking you need to be filled with praise for the present situation, that may not be possible at time. When you become a Praise Recorder you are beginning to tether your life to the blessings God is providing now. These memories and reflections can be some of God’s anchors that provide you hope and security for every day and especially during dark seasons.
