Playing Favorites
Many things take place in groups of people, some of them can nearly be involuntary nods to specific individual’s presence. We can respond positively to olfactory pleasantries, physical attractiveness, wonderful wardrobes, and socially comfortable confident people. Some of these folks demand preferential treatment, while others get it by default. No matter, there are some tendencies for the ‘common’ person to provide space and place for these ‘above average’ individuals. But what does this ‘playing favorites’ declare to others, what standard of value has gained such priority that it decreases the place of another? Is Favorites a game we should be playing?
