It Starts with Listening
With dialogue it’s easy to move from discussion mode to dominating and winning mode. That your point may hold the most profound insight or present some beneficial truth can many times be of little concern and go unconsidered seems ridiculous. Often it may come from the fact that we see the other individual more as an opponent rather than a friend with differences. I realize that culturally we are being programmed to highlight differences, explode and scream how offended we are at the very points where they exist. And what does that get us?
