How Lost is Lost

Have you ever been lost? Or have you ever looked for someone who was lost? We’re talking about the lost that bubbles up from concern, overflows into worry and erupts into panic. That’s the type of lost that Jesus describes in the series of revelation stories that reveal the heart of God. God’s desire is for you and me to turn from our own, “I know the best” attitude and direction, and ask Jesus to lead us. But God also knows our heart and tendencies. We like to do it on our own, when we want, whatever we want, and wherever we want! That often leads to being lost in the moment and confirms our lostness from God. The good news is that your lostness is not greater that Jesus’ desire and ability to find you and lead you home.
